New Coca-cola advertisement

This should be a new advertisement for Coca-cola. Grandpa sharing a coke with his grandson, it doesn't get cuter than that!

New Swing!

One of my favorite things about the new house is the large tree's in our yard. I have wanted to hang a swing on the tree in our front yard since we moved in, and this weekend was a perfect time since Grandpa Larry was here to help. Dresden LOVES it and cannot get enough of the swing. He gets going pretty high (higher than the swings at any park) but he still asks to be pushed "higher into the sky". As always, his trustee side kick "Freddy Dog" is with him for the ride.

Grandma and Grandpa Whitney's visit

We were so excited to have Chad's parents come and stay with us for the first time since we've been in Texas. Dresden loved hanging out with his Grandma and Grandpa and as usual he was SO spoiled! I couldn't pass up the chance to take another trip out to show them the Blue Bonnetts. We also took them to some of our favorite restaurants, watched Chad play in a soccer tournament, and Irene and I shopped while Larry made some great additions to our house (Thanks Grandpa Larry)!

6 mo. prego with the twins!

Okay, I haven't done pictures lately or talked about the twins so here is for all those asking...
I am one week into my sixth month and I feel like I should be starting my eighth month! I am feeling great for the most part, however, my belly is a lot larger at this point then it was with Dre (obviously) - so I am just wondering how much bigger it's gonna get! I see my OB every other week and I have ultrasounds every 3 weeks, so it makes for almost an appointment every week! Last ultrasound the twins were measuring about 1 lb. 8 oz. each and they have reached the age of viability - meaning if I were to have them now they would most likely survive. I feel them moving around all day and the best way to describe it is just movement everywhere all the time. Little boy will kick down below on the left side, while his sister is doing something I can feel all the way on the top right. The nursery (which I"m standing in) is bare, but not for long! We are picking up the second crib this weekend and hopefully it will start to come together! Of course, we still need to coax Dresden out of his crib - he still prefers the crib over his bunk bed!

BEST BUDDIES!

When the weekend comes around Dresden wants nothing to do with me and it's all about being with his best buddy -- Dad! These two are like two peas in a pod! Wherever Chad goes his little buddy is right behind him and whatever Chad is doing Dre wants to do it to. Daddy got a new hat, so guess who wanted to wear one too. Above they are playing ball in the back yard and Dresden got out his own vacuum so he could vacuum with Daddy!

CRAZY TEXAS WEATHER!

Friday night we all stayed in because there were tornado warnings and every station was covering the storm that was rolling into Dallas. We get tornado warnings quite often here, but this one seemed to have more hype and there had already been some tornado's touch down in Fort Worth. Dresden was happily playing outside and all was calm when a dark cloud came over the city and the loud sirens started blarring, notifying everyone of the tornado. Chad and I were watching Dre from inside the house and he was looking around trying to figure out what the sirens were for, then all of the sudden a huge bolt of lightning came out of no where followed by a loud crack of thunder and I have never seen his little legs run so fast! Poor little guy, his heart was racing a hundred miles an hour! We locked the doors and turned out the lights and watched to see what would happen next. The wind picked up and next thing I heard was a loud bang towards the back of the house, then another and another... we watched from the window as HUGE hail started pelting our house! It felt like we were under attack! The hail only lasted for a few minutes and was followed by more rain and lightning/thunder. I made Chad go outside and collect some of the hail that had fallen. You can see from the picture above that the hail was the size of golf balls! Dresden is holding his golf ball in his right hand, and the hail ball in the left! It turns out we only caught the tail end of the storm, it did quite a bit of damage further north - but luckily no one was hurt! Sorry to be overly dramatic about the weather -- I guess I haven't been in too many storms before!

HAPPY EASTER!

Easter with Dresden was pretty funny this year. He woke up and had fun looking for his Easter basket, which the Easter Bunny left on his top bunk bed. He was excited for the candy and I'm pretty sure that's all he's eaten today! It was record low temperature in Dallas today (only in the 40's this morning) so we saved the Easter egg hunt until after church so it would be a little warmer for him. The eggs were scattered all around the back yard and he gathered about 5 and then dropped the basket and ran to ride his trike. I told him we had to finish picking up the eggs and apparently he thought of it as more of a "chore" than something that was fun. He gave me an annoyed look and got off his trike, as he picked up the eggs he started to sing the "clean up" song. In his head he was probably thinking "thanks a lot Easter Bunny for coming and leaving me all these eggs to clean up"!

Texas Blue Bonnetts!

You are not a true "Texan" until you experience the Texas Blue Bonnetts (not that I claim to be a Texan - but still...) Dresden and I went today with some friends and they truly are worth the 40 min. drive! They say because of all the rain the blue bonnetts are better this year, it is pretty amazing to look out over the fields and see these beautiful blue flowers Everywhere! Dresden had a lot of fun this year, he ran all over and loved falling down in them. He would run up to me and say "that was fun, huh"! Posted by Picasa
