On Saturday we took our first mini trip to the Ft. Worth Zoo! We went with some friends and had a great time. The twins were really good (thank goodness for Baby Bjorn's) and Dresden had a blast. Dresden's favorite was the snakes -- he is really into snakes lately and I have no idea why?? Maybe that's what Grandma can get him for his birthday -- a FAKE one, of course!
On Friday night some friends invited us to go with them to the opening night of the Texas State Fair and we decided to brave it with the twins! Chad and I each strapped a baby on (in the Bjorn) and we were off! It was a fun night and I especially loved the food -- corn dogs, funnel cake, fried cookie dough (a first this year) -- YUM!

I can't believe how big Dresden has gotten! He seems to have grown up a ton just since the twins were born. Today was his first day of Pre-school and he was so excited. When we got there it was a little crazy and all the kids were crying. I could tell Dre was nervous, he was holding on to my hand tightly. I told him if he didn't cry I would bring him a "surprise" when I came back and he nodded his head. I then kissed him and walked out the door - it was so hard to not look back at him! A minute later I peeked inside the window and he was playing in the sandbox with his friend, Benton, so that made me feel better! He is such a good boy, I don't know how I lucked out with him!

I am so lucky to have friends who made the trip to Dallas with the sole purpose of helping me out with the twins! Kelly and Kamilah, THANK YOU!! It was unlike any of our other "girls" trips that we've done in the past. We pretty much only had time for the twins and didn't do much else, yet somehow we still laughed a ton and had the best time together!

We're Surviving!
For those who have not heard from us lately, Yes - we are surviving! It has been crazy, to say the least. The days fly by and I am constantly surprised that another 3 hours has passed and it is time to feed the babies again. There are times of total chaos when all 3 kids are crying and need my attention and I feel overwhelmed and exhausted. There are also times when I feel like I have things under control, and I truly think that having twins is so much fun! I am amazed at how well Dresden has adjusted to it all. He is so sweet with the twins and has found ways to entertain himself and help out when I need him. I would not be surviving without my amazing husband! We make a good team, even with no sleep! He is up with the twins just as much as I am and with as little as 3 to 4 hours of sleep still goes to work for 15 hours!
I can't say "thank you" enough to neighbors, family, and friends who have helped out and offered their support, it's made all the difference in getting through these first few months!
Imagine my surprise when my best friend, who lives in New York, calls one night and says she will be stopping by in a few hours! I didn't really believe it, but sure enough Kamilah and her sis Kijuana who were on a "road trip" to Arizona went out of their way to stop by and hang out in Dallas for a while!
Seriously, what would I do without my family! Having them here to help has been the only way Chad and I have managed! My mom was here for a month and my sister and niece were here for a week helping out! I don't know if they know how much it meant to us having them here! I am excited to have more visitors in the next few weeks -- the invitation is definitely open to anyone else wanting to come stay with the Whitney clan! Although please be advised it is no vacation (I gave up trying to convince my mom she was on vacation after the first couple of days). Once here there will be NO sleep and you will definitely be put to work!
